Backpackers
Looking for 88 days?
88
Disaster Recovery Army works across Victoria, with its core focus in regional and rural areas.
If you're looking to do 88 days' to extend your working holiday visa (417/462), we might have a role for you - either paid or voluntary.
In doing recovery work to help people get their homes, properties and lives back, we work in declared disaster areas (fire and flood) which allow qualifying backpackers to work or volunteer and count towards the 88 days' required to extend eligible visas.
Being part of Disaster Recovery Army can see you travelling across Australia, making new friends, seeing Australia in a different way to the cities, learning new skills, and having fun.
Right now, we're currently structuring new bases/depots across Victoria that could be of interest to you if you're looking to work or volunteer.
* Qualification of the above has been obtained from Home Affairs (Immigration), here and relate to 417/462 visas.
Keen to jump on board?
As we go about setting up our new sites, we'll also be doing recovery work in the community.
All you need is a pair of steel-toed work boots - we supply everything else.
Before you can start, we have to run a VEVO check to ensure you're an eligible person and hold the right visa.
We allow friends/partners to apply and come on board.
In limited circumstances, we may also be able to assist with accommodation too (conditions apply).
Because we work alongside other recovery aid agencies, and with various construction organisations, we'll collaborate with them about work they may also have if we can't offer you a role right now.
If you're keen to either volunteer or work with us, let us know by completing the online form below. We'll be in touch shortly.
