When disaster strikes, people need immediate help.
For us to be able to respond to requests for assistance fast, we need to ensure we're well-resourced with equipment, supplies, and a ready-to-deploy force of troops to help.
When demand peaks, especially if across multiple locations, people and communities will be relying on us to assist in recovery, and to help restore lives and properties.
As a charity, our reach and effectiveness are determined by the resources we have at any point in time, so we're on a mission to build on our resources.
We need your help.
In raising awareness and funds, our 'Because I Care' program asks people and businesses to support us in raising funds, supplies and equipment that we can use to deliver help to vulnerable people who are suffering following a disaster.
Disaster recovery is an important activity that is relied on by people and communities everywhere. Just imagine what it would be like having your life turned upside down and having to recover from a helpless situation.
Works undertaken in helping people rebuild their lives are involved, multi-faceted, and expensive.
We need people like you who have a heart and conscience, and who are prepared to help others in the community. Without people like you supporting us, people would be on their own and unable to get their lives back after a disaster.
By expanding awareness and fundraising, you can make a meaningful difference to people doing it tough and suffering from the effects of a disaster. Every donation will help:
• Contribute to costs associated with recovery works and activities, including equipment and supplies
• Support our operational costs, including deploying troops to perform recovery work after a disaster
• Continue to expand a range of programs to support people dealing with disaster
