Disaster.org.au is working at the forefront of community and corporate engagement in disaster recovery.

Our corporate partnerships support hundreds of people involved in disaster recovery who volunteer to help people and communities recover after a disaster. The funding and in-kind contributions from corporate partnerships and sponsors enable us to develop bespoke programs that are practical, deliverable, and community-focused.

More of the basics

What areas can corporate volunteering take place?

Corporate volunteering takes many different forms. As such, activities and locations are flexible and tailored to the organisation's particular requirements and dynamics.

We run corporate volunteering days in metro, regional, rural and remote communities.

Activities are customisable and can include fundraising, community clean-up and clearing, planting, coast care, advancing awareness, fence building, and site restoration and regeneration, to name just a few.

Corporate teams conclude their volunteering day with a better understanding of biodiversity, the environment in their local area, and how their activities at home and work can impact disaster-affected people, communities and environments.
What can we expect on a volunteering day?
Though corporate volunteering days are flexible and customisable to any organisation, a typical day will generally run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will be greeted by experienced coordinators who will cover all safety precautions, provide instruction on all tasks, and share knowledge about the volunteering project.

No experience is needed, just bring a can-do attitude and be willing to get your hands dirty.

A regular event might run as follows:

09:00 Arrival and sign in

09:15 Welcome, Site induction and WH&S

09:45 Volunteer activities (e.g., debris clearing, planting, fencing, etc.)

12:15 Enjoy a catered lunch with your team

1:00 Volunteer activities (e.g., watering seedlings, hay stacking, animal feeding, boundary walk)

2:45-3:00 Pack up and conclude the event

What dates are available?
Corporate Volunteering Days occur at any time, and are customisable to suit your workplace.

Major Corporate Volunteering Events will be held in major cities throughout the year.  Your inclusion in these events is invited, and allows your workplace to network with other like-minded corporate volunteers.

What is the pricing?
Corporate Volunteering pricing covers all resources for the day, including gloves, tools, plants, materials, site preparation and maintenance, as well as a qualified team leader, WHS and job safety plans, safety presentation, and insurance.

Most importantly, by being part of this program your organisation is supporting disaster.org.au disaster recovery charity activities to continue their significant on-ground works and keep providing engaging volunteering opportunities for the future.

Pricing is determined by the project activity. We prefer corporate volunteer groups with 6-10 participants, but larger groups can be accommodated. For more information on events, location, and pricing, please contact partnerships@disaster.org.au.
